Second Annual Ice Carving Contest at Kiwanis Holiday Lights Friday, December 14 and Saturday, December 15
For the second year in a row four teams of ice carvers will compete for the People’s Choice Award this weekend at Kiwanis Holiday Lights.
The following ice carvers will compete by creating the following sculptors: Tom Schiller, Hastings, MN – Reindeer Adam and Ashley Scholljegerdes, Waseca, MN – Rudolph and Yetti Joe and Chrissy Christenson, West St. Paul, MN – Santa’s Sleigh Paul and Deneena Hughes, Eden Prairie, MN – Holiday Gnomes
Sculpting will start at 4 p.m. on Friday Afternoon in the farm area in Mankato’s Sibley Park and will be
completed Saturday evening. During that time spectators will be able to text their votes for the $500 People’s Choice Award. The creations will then be lighted and will be on display as long as weather permits.
Kiwanis Holiday Lights is open each night through December 31, Sunday-Thursday, 5-9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 5,10 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Additional information can be found at www.kiwanisholidaylights.com
